THE COMPANY
Sinope Wine
Sinope Wine, the winery of Nicola De Rosa, is located in Mondragone, in the province of Caserta, nestled between Mount Petrino and Mount Massico in the heart of the historic Campania Felix. The estate lies in a land of great winemaking prestige: the ancient production area of the Ager Falernus, home to one of the most celebrated and highly prized wines of the ancient world. The soil is calcareous, with mineral-rich clay deposits, and benefits from the proximity of a sulphurous spring, renowned since ancient times for its therapeutic properties. The mild climate and constant exposure to the sea breeze create an ideal environment for growing vines. These unique conditions give our wines distinctive organoleptic characteristics, an authentic expression of the Terroir, which is at the heart of our winemaking philosophy. Our vineyards are planted at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare and trained using the Guyot system. The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates between late September and early October, in full respect of the vine’s natural rhythms.
